Redesigning the flow of a popular MATLAB app and leading a benchmarking study.
BYTE-SIZED INFO
tl;dr
This summer, I interned as a UX Designer with the MATLAB AI, Data Science and Statistics team which works with products in different domains like Deep Learning and Machine Learning. Over the course of this internship, I collaborated with UX Researchers, developers and CFEs to complete two projects.
The first one was designing an improved user flow and solving critical usability issues for a MATLAB app used to design and run experiments to train and compare deep learning networks.
The second project involved leading a benchmarking study for software specialising in embedded AI deployment with a focus on Edge AI.
This work is under an NDA.

THE AFTEREFFECTS
My Learnings.
Communication
I learned how to put my ideas into words more clearly and share them with developers in a way that made sense, so we could stay on the same page and bring the design to life smoothly.
Curiosity
I realized that asking questions doesn’t make you look clueless & actually shows curiosity and enthusiasm, leading to better collaboration.
Presentation
Presenting to leadership can feel intimidating at first, but I’ve learned that they’re people too, often just as eager to listen, support, and understand as anyone else.
